Suggestions or Recommendations about the Survey Topic
Based on the survey, we found that Culture Shock problem is really common problem and most international students overcome many obstacles in different ways in order to adapting a new culture. In this post, tips of dealing with culture shock will be described, for instance, students do not need to think too much about one of the biggest barrier which is language because of their home countries' education especially for English.
Firstly, English is considerable problem as one of the biggest culture shock, however, most of students had already educated to speak English basically before arriving in Melbourne. It means that the every international student has already became accustomed to communicate with local people and friends. Also, all the students who are not native English speaker had faced this dilemma at first but they kept continuously trying to understand and succeed in adaption. Furthermore, according to the results of our survey, the complication of English did not mostly affect on the complication of culture shock. That is why the international students have to confront the language barrier with motivation to get over language difficulty.
Secondly, understanding of the all differences as culture shock and the recognition of honeymoon stage facilitate accepting new environment for a long time. To reiterate our statement, culture shock is divided into five stages and you will be curious for everything in the first stage within one month after arrival. This fortunate period is also included in the culture shock because it triggers the well-known stage which can make people shocked. However, if you understand whole steps of culture shock before facing it, you will be able to have an objective perspective of this matter including yourself as one the situation of culture shock.
In conclusion, there were two solutions for international students to surmount difficulties of culture shock such as language. These problems can be handled intentionally by people and the ability to get along with culture shock are given to everyone. That is why you need to face each stage as a one of the culture shock and handle them as a possible situation for everyone.
